What is Evangelism?  It is impossible to find a definition that adequately expresses its real and comprehensive meaning.  It has been attempted often and perhaps it is a good thing for each generation of Christians to attempt its own definition as to the meaning of this word. To me the best and most comprehensive definition is the one that was formulated by the representative of thirty Protestants at the time of the Columbus, Ohio, meeting of the Executive Committee of the Federal Council of Churches in 1946. After much prayer and considerable discussion, the Department of Evangelism stated, “The presentation of the Good News of God in Jesus Christ, so that men are brought through the power of the Holy Spirit, to put their trust in God; accept Jesus Christ as their savior from the guilt and power of sin; follow and serve Him as their Lord in fellowship of the Church and in the vocations of the common life.” (ev chll Amme)

The Words “Evangelism” And “Gospel”

We get the word “evangelism” from Latin, which came from the Greek.

The word evangelium Latin word that was derived from two Greek word’s,  eu translated ____________ And aggelos  translated                                           Gospel comes from the Anglo-Saxon godspell.  God spell  (story), or good spell.  The Gospel is telling the good news, good spell, a story of Jesus Christ.

What Is The Believers Responsibility?

GO AND DO ALL THAT IS WRITTEN IN THE MANDATE

“Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. And he said unto them, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils: they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen!”  (Mark 16:14-20)
